i find the opposite — all that psychodelia stuff is ridiculous to me, though piper is quite a good record,
but with gilmour, they got an outstanding
guitarist who gave floyd the most of their signature sound.

Start listening the whole album The dark side of the moon or Wish you were here, before you get into the most difficult albums like Ummagumma or Atom heart mother. Listen the albums completely, is the only way to really enjoy this great band.

I say pick up Darkside of the Moon, that is my favorite. What I did was work my way to The Final Cut. After that I moved to their early days up to Meddle

ya know how a band manager gets worried if another manager suddenly appeares working for the same band, does a promoter see it the same way? as he walks down a street and sees band posters he did not have put up! but they promote the band He promotes! would he flip out? or think any extra promotion is good promotion.

Just buy dark side of the moon, lie down on your floor in the dark and appreciate. I know it’s sound like some mad hippy instructions, but actually do, it’ll be awesome

I already kind of apologised for any percieved criticism. These guys I think have more talent than any other band ever, IMHO, except maybe Led Zep.
But you still have to keep it in perspective, all I am saying, I doubt these guys would want you revolving your life around them, as in trying to take their lyrics and making it your guideline for life. I would bet they would think that is lame. I got off on the wrong foot! I love these guys. I am glad you do too.
