Pink Floyd-Cymbaline

de Roger Waters Chant: David Gilmour(sur cet album) BO du film “More” réalisé par Barbet Schroeder en 1969. Cymbaline (album version) The path you tread is narrow And the drop is sheer and very high The ravens all are watching From a vantage point nearby Apprehension creeping Like a tube train up your spine Will the tightrope reach the end Will the final couplet rhyme And it’s high time Cymbaline It’s high time Cymbaline Please wake me A butterfly with broken wings Is falling by your side The ravens all are closing in There’s nowhere you can hide Your manager and agent Are both busy on the phone Selling coloured photographs To magazines back home And it’s high time Cymbaline It’s high time Cymbaline Please wake me The lines converging where you stand They must have moved the picture plane The leaves are heavy round your feet You hear the thunder of the train Suddenly it strikes you That they’re moving into range And Doctor Strange Is always changing size And it’s high time Cymbaline It’s high time Cymbaline Please wake me

    This album really is an underrated album and is hardly played and only true floyd fans seem to like it but this featured alot of songs that i would have loved to see pink floyd play more because they really flow and are very well played and the same could be said for obscured by clouds just killer tracks that they very seldom played

    I can’t believe I am just now giving this album a chance, it’s the only Pink Floyd album that I don’t own, which is insane considering I’ve had all the other one’s for at least three years. I absolutely LOVE this song, and I can’t wait to go buy the album.

    Well don’t doubt it too much because in the film they do get addicted to heroin, thus the title ‘More’ – as in wanting more drugs, heroin, etc. I don’t think any of their songs are about drugs, but it seems to apply here being that it is in the movie. While Pink Floyd never were a type of band to write about using drugs, they were incredibly precise in their lyrics. So to say that this song is about heroin is a fair statement.

    @KarmaSong

    Cymbaline is a diamond, along with Shine On You Crazy Diamond All parts. Lets not forget Sheep and Dogs though.

    This song is just about really bad fucked up nightmare(i.e. “bad trip”)

    @phoneix91 A Google search would’ve answered your question easily, but he’s a Marvel Comics character. One of their more well-known ones, actually. He’s a sorcerer who works to keep the balance in the universe.

  13. phoneix91 Says:

    who the hell is ‘dr strange’–is it that Dr.Wolf guy from the movie.

  14. KarmaSong Says:

    Cymbaline remains one of my favorites among the diamonds that the Pink Floyd composed, far from drum machines and samplers. What a breath of fresh air in this upside down world…

    thank god for the soundtracks!

  18. phoneix91 Says:

    On the film, this song is sung a little different than on the album for some reason.

    I guess because German was Steven’s first language not english. like in the beginign when he’s hitching the guy who picks him up says he dosn’t look german

  20. phoneix91 Says:

    @colironhands1. I was sure if the main character’s voice was dubbed or something. I know that Estelle is really an “American”, so her voice wasn’t dubbed. Dr. Wolf–the guy that plays him, is German, I think.. So, I’m not sure if his voice was dubbed by another guy or something. It was confusing that he was talking to Estelle in English, whereas when he talking to Stephen it was in German.

  21. coldironhands1 Says:

    it’s confusing i was expecting the film to be in french, yet it was in english and the main charecter’s english was either poor or his acting (he was just always seemed angry and pushy) I was shocked that most of the audio was in english, i’d like the find a better copy of this for my region, this film is beutiful.

  22. phoneix91 Says:

    @coldironhands1. I didn’t get either. I wasn’t if the guy-that played Dr. Wolf knew both English and German or was it dubbed or something by another guy.

  23. coldironhands1 Says:

    @phoneix91 Yes.

  24. phoneix91 Says:

    @colironhands1. Are you talking about what I said about that Dr. Wolf guy.

  25. coldironhands1 Says:

    @phoneix91 yeah i don’t understand that either
