Ironically, I could argue for myself that all three of mine come from the post waters era- On The Turning Away, Learning To Fly, and Coming Back To Life. Haha, kind of weird now that I think about it considering all the time I spent listening to the wall and darkside before discovering the latter Floyd stuff

you have a point there but you can say that the evolution scale of Pink Floyd was Syd Barrett ->Roger Waters->David Gilmour. All of the iconic figures in Pink Floyd’s history had it’s time of influence, good for us the outcome was always delightful

no Pink Floyd without the influence of Syd Barrett. Many songs are ‘about’ him or inspired by him. I’d say Barrett&Gilmoure, but then again you can’t just leave out Roger Waters…damn what a band…true legends. I mean one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced in my life is to name my top 3 Pink Floyd tracks, that speaks for itself

David Gilmour is a demigod. I’m a guitarist and no one has influenced me more than him. I’ve even adopted his playing style, involuntarily, just by listening to him so much. Long live David Gilmour.

While I do like albums like The Final Cut and The Wall, most of the songs I love best are Gilmour’s work. You can’t say Gilmour is not Pink Floyd, he’s had an inmense influence in the group.
